Every year, the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek lends works to both national and international exhibitions. This is part of an important exchange of art.

The Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek only lends to exhibition venues and museums with security and fire prevention arrangements that fulfil all our requirements and where the works of art can be handled by trained staff. We do not lend works to private individuals.

All questions regarding loans should be directed to Registrar Christina Collet Hvolgaard; Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, Dantes Plads 7, DK-1556 Copenhagen V

E-mail: chrc@glyptoteket.dk.

Costs of Lending

Danish exhibition venues and museums do not pay to borrow works from the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek. However, there may be costs for necessary preparation and conservation of the works.

Regardless of whether you come from a Danish or foreign museum or exhibition center, you must pay the costs of insurance for the works you borrow and the transport costs. In addition, you must also cover the costs of a courier. This includes transport, hotel accommodation and catering. The standard for this is stated in the terms and conditions for the loan of artworks.

No administration and handling fees are charged for loans for national exhibitions. However, expenses for any necessary preparation and conservation of the works must be paid.

For international loans, a standard fee of DKK 6250 (+DKK 1000 per work) is charged to cover administration and handling in connection with the respective loan. Other costs may be required in connection with the preparation, conservation, and handling of a loan. All costs are agreed upon before the loan agreement is signed. If a loan is cancelled less than two months before the exhibition opening, these costs will still be charged.

All insurance costs for the respective works and all transport costs (including courier costs) are also borne by the borrower.
